A gold metal and enamel device 1-1/4 inches in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Per saltire wavy Azure and Gules billetty Or, in chief a bull’s skull and in base a wheel, all of the last


Symbolism

Scarlet is one of the colors traditionally associated with Support units.  Gold signifies abundance and prosperity.  The golden billets illustrate supplies while the wheel symbolizes transportation.  The bull’s skull is based on the unit’s parent division, the 34th Infantry Division, known as the “Red Bulls” of the Minnesota Army National Guard.

The distinctive unit insignia for the 1347th Support Battalion was approved on 30 August 2023.

Shield.  Per saltire wavy Azure and Gules billetty Or fimbriated of the last, in chief a bull’s skull Buff and in base a wheel Proper.

Crest.  That for the regiments and separate battalions of the Minnesota Army National Guard: From a wreath Or and Azure, a sheaf of wheat Proper.


Symbolism

Shield.  Scarlet and Buff are colors traditionally associated with Support units.  The wavy saltire represents the multi-functional operations within the unit.  The blue field points to Minnesota’s nickname as the “Land of 10,000 Lakes.”  The golden billets illustrate supplies while the wheel symbolizes transportation.   The bull’s skull is adapted from the unit’s parent division, the 34th Infantry Division, known as the “Red Bulls” of the Minnesota Army National Guard.

Crest. The crest is that of the Minnesota Army National Guard.
